The Portsmouth & South East Hampshire Chamber of Commerce uses a committee structure as one of the various ways in which we gather the views of our bsuiness members.
Currently the following committees operate
Services Group
Made up of a variety of members from the services sector of our membership, this committee meets quarterly to discuss issues relevant to the services sector.
The Group is chaired by Jim Gilhooley of Morlan Gil HR

Recent issues debated have included European legislation, the Budget, Foundation Degrees, Temporary Workers, Regulatory Reform, Healthy Workplaces, the role of Jobcentre Plus, Apprenticeships.
Planning & Transport
Made up of members from the property and planning sector ad transport sector together with those with a general interest in these issues.
The group meets bi-monthly and receives regular presentations on topical issues such as the Portsmouth Plan, key planning application eg Portsmouth Football Club, Tipner, Northern Quarter, Dunsbury Hill Farm. The group also debate issues relating to transport and planning including the Hampshire Freight Strategy, Local Transport Plans, Havant Reservoir, Town Centre Strategy and Local Development Frameworks.

Policy Council
A cross represetation of the combined membership of the Chamber with represetatives from each key sector and geographical area.
This group sets and debates policy for the Chamber as a whole.
